All the health problems described under the topic Health
Risks of Morbid Obesity stem from one medical condition: severe obesity.
Instead of treating each illness separately, we treat the basis of the problem.
All bariatric surgeons have repeatedly seen a striking improvement in many obesity-associated
health problems, as indicated in the table below.

Many medications that a person is taking before the operation for their associated medical
problems is usually stopped or cut down to a fraction, after the surgery.
The most amazing result is that many patients with diabetes, whether they are taking pills
or insulin, are off of all their medications with a normal blood sugar
level within days after their operation.
All of this is evidence that weight-loss from surgery is not just cosmetic,
but significantly reduces the risk of death.
